Our Purpose

A smaller footprint should never mean a smaller life.

Woodstock microHomes are created for people who want a home that feels intentional, modern, and easy to enjoy. From compact studios to more spacious one- and two-bedroom layouts, each model is designed to make thoughtful use of every square foot.

For Costa Rica buyers, that flexibility can support many different plans: a personal retreat, a second home, guest accommodations, a remote-work base, a hospitality project, or a multi-unit property concept.

The goal is not simply to build smaller. It is to create beautiful, adaptable spaces that support more freedom, more possibility, and a closer relationship with the world outside your door.

The Ultramodern Difference

Sophisticated design. Practical living.

Clean architectural lines, light-filled interiors, high-end finishes, and modular flexibility come together to create compact spaces that feel surprisingly open and comfortable.

Rob Goldman, founder of Woodstock microHomes
Founder Rob Goldman
Meet Our Founder

From visual storyteller to microhome pioneer.

Rob Goldman spent more than four decades as a professional photographer, creating images for major publications including Cosmopolitan, Time, Brides, and Mademoiselle. Behind the camera, he carried a lifelong interest in architecture, homebuilding, and social impact.

That design instinct was never theoretical. Over the years, Rob designed multiple homes and photography studios. His path toward Woodstock microHomes began when he and his wife researched a compact home for an Airbnb project on their property.

“They saw it as a viable, affordable housing alternative, as well as an instant accessory dwelling unit.”

When the original site was unexpectedly deemed unsuitable, Rob listed the home for sale. It sold quickly—but during the month before the buyer could move it, homeowners and local planning and housing professionals continued visiting the unit. Their response to its combination of design, strength, flexibility, and accessibility helped reveal a much larger opportunity.

That unexpected turn became the beginning of Woodstock microHomes. Rob’s work has since expanded beyond the Hudson Valley to Costa Rica, where he and his family spend part of the year and where he has built local knowledge, relationships, and a vision for wider distribution.

  • More than four decades of visual and creative experience

A better customer experience begins with better communication.

People should be able to explore a microhome project with clear information, realistic expectations, and respect for their goals.

01

Integrity

Honest information and realistic expectations should guide every conversation and decision.

02

Quality

A compact home should still feel beautiful, comfortable, thoughtful, and carefully planned.

03

Transparency

Available options, responsibilities, project needs, and next steps should be discussed clearly.

04

Practical Design

Good design should improve how a space looks, feels, functions, and adapts to real life.
